The Weapon of a Jedi

A Luke Skywalker Adventure

Description

In this story, set between Star Wars: A New Hope and Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, Luke finds himself drawn to a mysterious planet, where he must use the Force to save a young girl — and survive in a dangerous duel against a strange new villain.

Opening Crawl

A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away. . . .

The REBEL ALLIANCE has destroyed the Empire’s dreaded DEATH STAR, but the galaxy remains convulsed by civil war, and the Imperial starfleet is hunting the rebels throughout the galaxy.

LUKE SKYWALKER, the pilot who destroyed the Death Star, is now hailed as a hero. But Luke seeks only to support the freedom fighters, serving the Rebellion behind the controls of his X-wing fighter.

Even as he flies alongside the pilots of Red Squadron, Luke feels stirrings in the mystical energy field known as the Force. And this farm boy turned fighter pilot begins to suspect that his destiny likes along a different path…

Proof of Placement

The Weapon of a Jedi is set in 4/10/2018. Set after Heir to the Jedi since that was Luke’s first experiments with the Force (which he uses in this book) and before Skywalker Strikes since Luke uses his lightsaber in combat in that series (which he does for the first time in this book).

Notes & Trivia

Nestlé (as part of Marvel Special Projects) created animatics with audio narration of The Weapon of a Jedi and Smuggler’s Run which summarize (and spoil) nearly the entire book. Nestlé cereal boxes contained a code which would allow access to these adaptations online. Will Sliney provided the artwork for this adaptation.

The contents of The Weapon of a Jedi are made up of a prologue, 3 untitled parts which are further divided into a total of 13 titled chapters, and an epilogue.
